Avril first encountered BIOSS SA and capability information in 2001 when a team of CPA and IRIS practitioners were consulting to the mining company she then worked for. She was so impressed by the BIOSS philosophy, culture and product that she vowed to work for them “one day”. Ten years later that “one day” finally arrived and Avril joined BIOSS SA in 2011 as an Associate, and shortly thereafter joined the team permanently. She is a Jill-of-all-trades who slots in wherever she is needed in the business – from training, to assessments, OD, HR Consulting and CPA / MCPA facilitation. She holds a B.Soc Sci degree (UCT), an Honours Degree in Psychology (UCT) and completed her MBA with an HR Specialism (EBS) in 2011. She is a registered Psychometrist and is certified and accredited in the use of a number of psychometric assessments.
Avril deeply values opportunities to connect meaningfully with others and with each encounter, discovers snippets of wisdom, humour and intelligence that leave her feeling humbled and hopeful about the future. She strives to inspire others with this optimism and endeavours to support individuals, the companies they function in, and societies they participate in and create, to discover and leverage their inner magic and potential for the greater good. She enjoys reading and travelling – both of which serve to remind her of the miraculous inter-connectedness that underpins the diversity in the universe.
Avril’s portfolio of experience extends from selection, ABET, training and development, psychometric assessment, various facets of OD, to general HR consulting and talent management. She has accumulated this throughout a variety of industries including the recruitment domain, psychological assessment and consulting, IT, Insurance, Mining and Manufacturing, as well as via consulting to banks and Government amongst others, and doing pro-bono work for NGO’s.
