Cobus has gained his 20 years of corporate experience with both JSE and London FTSE listed public companies and his industry exposure includes the mining, manufacturing, retail logistics & supply chain and the high tech manufacturing & engineering industries, where he held executive HR roles, amongst others with regional and global remits.
After spending 10 years in the UK Cobus returned home to South Africa, and the KZN North Coast, in 2009. After a career break he established himself as an independent consultant conducting consultancy assignments globally for a number of international intermediaries and clients.
Cobus holds BA (Hons), B Comm and LLM degrees and his academic research includes topics as diverse as the socio-economic agenda of employment equity legislation, the psychological employment contract as a common-law implied contract term, the influence of Trade Union Federations on public policy and the appropriateness of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, over litigation, in employment disputes. Cobus is a registered CPA & MCPA Practitioner with BIOSS SA.
Cobus is the part-time CEO role of the iLembe Chamber of Commerce and a Non-Executive Director of Enterprise iLembe, a regional local economic development agency.
